Joe Burrow is going to wake up feeling every bit of this hit.
During the game against the New Orleans Saints, linebacker Demario Davis came running in and laid him out on the turf.
Unfortunately for Davis, he got a roughing the passer penalty for his troubles.
Burrow was able to get up and remain in the game. And he would take advantage of the penalty by capping off the drive with a touchdown pass to Joe Mixon.
With all of the discussion surrounding roughing the passer calls lately, it’ll be interesting to see how NFL fans and analysts view this one.
While it was a devastating hit, Burrow was also out of the pocket on the play. However, it did appear as though he took a helmet to the chin after releasing the ball, which will draw a flag in the NFL ten times out of ten.
