Cincinnati Bengals fans are likely breathing a sigh of relief after hearing head coach Zac Taylor give an answer to quarterback Joe Burrow being carted off the practice field, but fans are still feeling bad for him after what he stated earlier this week.
Burrow suffered a calf injury which led to him pulling up during a team drill at training camp. The non-contact injury had fans worried it might have been more serious.
The timing of Burrow’s injury is heartbreaking because he just told reporters on Wednesday that he was looking forward to extended preseason action for the first time in his NFL career.
His rookie year did not have any games due to the global pandemic. The next year, he only had three snaps due to his recovery from a torn ACL. Last year, Burrow had to watch his teammates from the sidelines due to a ruptured appendix.
This was supposed to be his year, and then he gets hit with a setback.
Fans were incredibly saddened for him:

It goes without saying how important Burrow is to the Bengals’ success, since he was their first overall selection.
Burrow helped the Bengals reach the Super Bowl during the 2021 season, passing for 4,611 yards. He had 34 touchdowns to 14 interceptions during that regular season.
Cincinnati returned to the AFC Championship Game last season behind Burrow’s 12-4 record as a starter during the regular season. The Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills to play the Kansas City Chiefs for the second-straight season in the AFC Championship game.
They would not come out on top this time around, but everybody knows that the Bengals are a real team.
