After Ravens tight end Mark Andrews exited the game and Lamar Jackson had an injury scare, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow then left with what appeared to be a hand injury.
After the game, coach Zac Taylor spoke to reporters and provided an update on Burrow’s status, indicating that the team believes its quarterback sustained a sprained right wrist.
All of this would’ve been okay if the Bengals had stated something about Burrow’s injury prior to Thursday Night Football, but they failed to do so. Because of their actions, the NFL has now opened an investigation as to why the team did not list him on the injury report.
Burrow exited the game during the second quarter and was taken to the medical tent. He was soon seen on the sideline trying to throw a football but was unable to, and visibly grimaced in pain as he crouched down.
Burrow then went to the locker room and was replaced by backup Jake Browning for the remainder of the night.
Burrow’s wrist had been the topic of discussion prior to kickoff after footage later aired on the Prime Video broadcast appeared to show the quarterback wearing some sort of wrist brace while exiting the team bus before the game.
