Last week, a picture surfaced on social media showing Joe Burrow during an offseason workout where it appeared he had added muscle to his frame, but Burrow says he’s actually lost a little weight.
The Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback said he weighed 221 pounds at the Scouting Combine and is now about 215 after finding it easier to eat healthy foods while he’s been living in his parents’ basement.
“I actually lost weight post-draft,” Burrow told PFT. “Coming out of the season you’re kind of a soft body. You lose a lot of muscle and you’ve got to keep the weight on and so you gain a little fat. I lost weight throughout the offseason so I feel great right now.”
The former LSU standout exploded on the scene in 2019 when he racked up 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns, with just six interceptions. He took home the Heisman Trophy, and led LSU to SEC and National Championships.
Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are currently set to open their season on Sept. 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
