It is that time of year when most people are in a giving mood and handing out gifts to their family, friends and loved ones. The NFL is no different as every year around this time we hear stories of quarterbacks gifting their offensive lineman lavish gifts for helping them not get beat up too badly on game day.
Although he was the most sacked quarterback in the league last season, Joe Burrow still gifted all of his offensive lineman with diamond encrusted, custom made G-Shock watches. This year, Burrow decided to step it up a notch by handing out a ticket to a cruise with a plus-1 to his lineman for Christmas, but he definitely will not be joining them.
The Bengals invested heavily this past off season on their offensive lineman by bringing in free agents Alex Cappa, Ted Karras, and La’el Collins to help protect their franchise quarterback. At the start of the season they were seeing mixed results, as it takes time for a new line to build chemistry and gel as a unit.
The second half of the season has been more impressive as the line is giving the time Burrow needs to find his weapons downfield. Burrow is enjoying an excellent season and has led his team to an 11-4 record thus far and is in the running for NFL MVP.
The Bengals will take on fellow MVP candidate Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills this upcoming Monday Night in Cincinnati in a game that is shaping up to be one of the best of the season with huge implications within the AFC playoff picture.
