ESPN’s top NFL insider Adam Schefter has delivered a massive injury update on Joe Burrow this Wednesday.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was thought to be in danger of missing the start of the season after going down injured on the practice field in late July, with head coach Zac Taylor telling reporters the player would be out for “several weeks” with what was revealed to be a calf injury.
Well, the period is now over, much to the delight of Cincy fans, with Schefter reporting that Burrow returned to practice today.
It’s now unlikely that he will miss the Bengals’ Week 1 fixture against the Cleveland Browns on September 10.
The injury looks to have put extension talks on the back burner as the QB was thought to be next up following Justin Herbert’s mega extension in July. Burrow is expected to be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL at some point in the near future.
For now, he’ll just be happy to be back out there. But he will be keen on returning to the negotiating table soon.
