ESPN “Monday Night Football” commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman set a special record the very moment the New York Jets-Buffalo Bills Week 1 game commenced.
As noted by Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Monday night’s game officially marks the 22nd season of Buck and Aikman working together. This makes them the longest-serving NFL commentary duo ever, surpassing the record they previously shared with John Madden and Pat Summerall.
Buck began calling NFL games on FOX in 1994, and Aikman joined the network eight years later. They worked together until the 2021 season before moving over to the Worldwide Leader in Sports last year.
