Joe Buck and Troy Aikman seemed like they absolutely hated their jobs on Monday night as they had to call the underwhelming fixture between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. While fans could have gone to bed, the ESPN announcers had no choice but to stick around.
They were very relieved when it was all over, and who could blame them?
Buck, whose pain was palpable, signed off by saying, “… And with the Benny Hill music playing in the background, this game is over.”
“Thankfully,” Aikman concurred as the seconds wound down.
As you can see right below, the ‘Monday Night Football’ affair finished in comedic fashion, with eight passes and multiple fumbles, as well as a flag, popping up in the final sequence.
The Bears, though, will not care. They got a win in the books, which is really all that matters.

As for the Vikings, it appears the novelty of Josh Dobbs has worn off. The quarterback threw four interceptions in the 12-10 loss and head coach Kevin O’Connell has refused to commit to him as the starting quarterback moving forward.
“We’re going to take a look, you know really evaluate the inventory of plays now we have of Josh,” he told reporters after questions over a possible QB change.
Dobbs completed 22 of 32 passing attempts for 185 yards and one touchdown on the night. He did put the Vikings in position for another late win near the end but Justin Fields, despite two fumbles in the fourth quarter, put together a game-winning drive to take Chicago to 4-8 for the season.
