Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were nicknamed “The A Team” when they joined Cris Collinsworth to form Fox’s top NFL broadcast crew in 2002. They are still the A team with the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
ESPN is broadcasting a playoff game in the Divisional Round for the first time ever, and Buck and Aikman are the best duos to have on the first show.
Bill Hofheimer of ESPN had this to say about the network’s achievement: “The #NFL Divisional Round is awesome. So great that our ESPN team has a game this late into the playoffs for the first time ever. @Buck @TroyAikman @saltersl @LauraRutledge and our fantastic production crew are ready for #HOUvsBAL in Baltimore.”

Buck and Aikman, the longtime broadcast duo for Fox Sports, signed a multi-year contract with ESPN in March 2022 and immediately took over as ESPN’s No. 1 team, covering its featured Monday Night Football games.
Buck and Aikman have surpassed the legendary duo of Pat Summerall and John Madden, who worked together for 21 years on CBS and Fox. Summerall and Madden split up after the 2001 season when Summerall went into semi-retirement and Madden moved to “Monday Night Football.”
