NFL fans had all sorts of theories after watching a clip of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman before their coverage of the game between the New York Jets and the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.
Buck and Aikman were speaking to Scott Van Pelt on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, discussing the Jets defense, when they began exchanging awkward glances. The former was doing the talking at the time, with his broadcast partner looking right at him, before turning to face him with a smile.
He would do it a second time, leaving fans wondering what the heck was going on.
It appears that there was some inside joke that had gone on off-air, but some users on social media reckon one of them farted.
“It was pretty obvious, well before the broadcast had started, Aikman thought the Jets offense was going to get killed by the Chargers newly seasoned defense,” one wrote. “The whole NFL studio crew had all just picked the Jets. Aikman was making fun of Buck, for even trying to hype the Jets.”
