During the Week 5 Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders, somehow playoff baseball came up on the broadcast.
Joe Buck no longer works for Fox and is no longer calling Major League Baseball but old habits die hard.
Former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman had to bring up his team that is on the cusp of getting to the American League Championship Series, by stating, “Speaking of October, how about my Rangers?”
The Texas Rangers shocked everybody by sweeping the Wild Card Series against the Tampa Bay Rays and are now up 2-0 on the Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division Series.
Buck immediately called him out.
“Now they’re your Rangers? Buck asked.
“I’m on that bandwagon, you bet I am,” Aikman replied.
“Oh yeah, you are,” Buck said. “I’ll give you $100 if you can name four players for the Rangers.”
Aikman wasn’t having any of it.

“You know, there was a time when I didn’t have to work with you in October. I don’t know what happened to those days,” he said.
“Those are long gone. You’re stuck.”
Fans were digging this conversation:
The Texas Rangers will have their chance to stamp their place in the next round if they win tonight against the Orioles, which is the same team that won 101 games in the regular season.
The Las Vegas Raiders secured a 17-13 victory over the Green Bay Packers, marking the first meeting between the two teams since Davante Adams’ trade to the Raiders in 2022.
The Raiders finally claimed their first victory since beating the Denver Broncos in the season’s opening game. Garoppolo, who missed last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers at Sofi Stadium, completed 22-of-31 passes for 208 yards, with one touchdown and an interception.
