Just three games into the 2022 NFL season, KaVontae Turpin, the 2021 USFL MVP, is already making his mark in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.
However, everything is not what it seems.
Longtime NFL announcer Joe Buck is facing some criticism after he said Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin has a “fantastic story.”
It seems rather harmless until you find out what he was accused of just a few years ago.
Turpin has a troubling story in his past, as he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in college.

As a member of the New Jersey Generals, Turpin accumulated 921 all-purpose yards, 540 yards receiving on 44 receptions with another 129 yards on the ground. He also averaged 22.7 yards on three kick return attempts and 15.3 yards on 12 punt returns.
Back in 2019, Turpin pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury – family violence related to an October 2018 assault of his longtime girlfriend. Witnesses stated at the time they Turpin “manhandle” a woman “by grabbing her from behind with one arm across her neck, her feet dragging as she kicked and yelled at him.”
A police officer wrote that Turpin grabbed and bruised both arms of his victim, ripped her shirt and slammed her phone on the counter, causing the screen to break. Turpin admitted to the officer that he slammed the phone down.
Yikes.
