Injuries can suck to athletes, but it definitely sucks when it happens to an incoming player into the NFL.
Boise State safety JL Skinner is not going to be performing at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine because he tre his pectoral muscle while training on Friday. He won’t be able to perform in drills, but he will be able to do interviews.
During the 2022 season, Skinner racked up 62 total tackles (36 solo), four interceptions, and four passes defended. That campaign came off his best year in 2021 when he had 92 total tackles (66 solo), two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and three passes defended.
He is a guy who can definitely make a difference on a football team.
Hopefully, his work on the field in college is enough to make him not drop too far because of his injury. He’ll have to stand out even more with his interviewing skills.

It remains to be seen when Skinner will be back to full strength and ready to return to the field.
