The San Francisco 49ers and defensive end Nick Bosa reportedly agreed to a five-year, $170 million contract extension which includes $122.5 million in guaranteed money just one day before the NFL season was set to begin and days before they took the field on Sunday.

Hours after the reported deal, former Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt took to X to speak about Bosa’s contract. He said he finally got time to go over his deal and it had him thinking he would unretire, only if a team would give him something similar.
“Just getting a chance to sit down and look at the breakdown of Bosa’s new (very well-deserved) contract.
I have a little more digging to do, but I’m starting to feel comfortable saying that I would consider un-retiring if offered a similar contract.
Maybe.”
The 25-year-old Bosa had an excellent 2022 season, registering 51 tackles (19 for loss), a league-leading 18.5 sacks, 48 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles. He is also a three-time Pro Bowler and was the 2019 Defensive Rookie of the Year.
