Something fishy is going on in the NFL in regard to Lamar Jackson and many people are seeing right through it.
The Baltimore Ravens designated the non-exclusive franchise tag on Lamar Jackson, allowing other teams a chance to negotiate with the star quarterback. However, soon after the news, a bunch of teams announced they would not plan to pursue the former MVP QB. Those teams include the Falcons, Panthers, Raiders, Commanders, and Dolphins.
A bunch of former NFL stars took to social media to allude that something sinister was going on behind the scenes.
“Lamar Jackson is a Unanimous MVP, has lead the NFL in Passing Touchdowns, is 26 years old, is 45-16 as a starter and All the QB needy teams are saying they aren’t interested. Don’t smell right to me.”

“Why are all of these teams so publicly “out” on Lamar Jackson, an MVP winner in his prime at the most important position in the entire NFL?
What am I missing here?”
Deshaun Watson’s agent David Mulugheta:
The Ravens made the long-expected move official by using the tag just before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline. The two sides have been unable to reach a long-term deal since he became eligible for a contract extension over two years ago. Complicating things was Deshaun Watson getting his fully guaranteed deal from the Browns after he was traded by the Houston Texans.
Jackson, who has accomplished more than Watson, wants a similar type of deal, but it appears he will not get it from the Ravens or anyone else.
If Jackson signs an offer sheet with another team, Baltimore has the right to match the offer to keep him or take two first-round picks as compensation.
The nonexclusive tag will pay Jackson $32 million this season.
