JJ Watt may have a future in breaking news.
According to the former defensive superstar, tight end Zach Ertz asked and received his release from the Arizona Cardinals to give him the chance to go and play for a contender.
Ertz has accumulated 7,434 yards in his 11-year career. That’s the 12th-most all-time and the third-most amongst active players.
Ertz was still adding to those numbers earlier this year, as he had gained 187 yards in his first seven games. Unfortunately, Ertz left the Cardinals’ Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he ended up on the injury report.
He has not played since October 22nd. Having played pro football for a decade, Ertz has suffered his share of injuries. Last year, he tore his MCL in Week 10.
Now, the next time he suits up, it will be for another team that has a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
