Jimmy Kimmel had a hilarious name for Travis Kelce following the player’s new record-breaking deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs have made Kelce the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, rewarding him with a well-deserved deal after he helped them win a third Super Bowl earlier this year. But, the way Kimmel sees it, he’s still the broke one in his relationship.
The star TE landed a deal that’s set to pay him $34.5 million, yet he will still be “Taylor Swift’s broke boyfriend,” according to the late-night show host.
“New contract is worth $34 million, or as Taylor Swift calls it, gum money,” Kimmel said on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week. “Can you imagine being in a relationship where you make $34M and you’re still the broke boyfriend?”

How Travis Kelce Reacted To His New Deal With The Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce isn’t quite the earner Taylor Swift is. The difference in net worth is vast – Swift is worth a reported $1.1 billion while Kelce is at $50 million – but the NFL star won’t care a lick as he’s set to have $17 million guaranteed this season and a bit more than that in 2025 as long as he’s still on the roster by the third day of the next league year.

The 34-year-old appeared in a video which showed him speaking about how excited he was to get back to work following his new deal.
Speaking on his ‘New Heights’ podcast this week, Kelce told his brother Jason he’s grateful to the team and had no plans to hold out.
“I’m not a guy that sits out,” he said. “I’m not a guy that holds out. I’m a guy that loves coming into the building, and the Chiefs know that. So, for them to want to get this done for me knowing how much blood, sweat and tears that I put into this thing, I’m extremely grateful.”
Now widely regarded as the best tight end in NFL history, Kelce is heading into next season with over 11,000 receiving yards and 74 receiving touchdowns. He has also made four All-Pro first teams and nine Pro Bowls.
