Since Jimmy Johnson left the Cowboys in 1994, the tense relationship between Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and the two-time Super Bowl champion coach has been well-documented. Despite all the success that Johnson had as the coach of the Cowboys, Jones would force him out.
Fast-forward to 2022, where Jones was asked this week whether or not Johnson would ever be elected to the franchise’s prestigious Ring of Honor. “It isn’t, at the end of the day, all tailored around whether Jimmy is sniveling or not,” Jones said.
In response, Johnson told Dan LeBatard, “I had to look that word up in the dictionary. I don’t know that I’ve ever sniveled.”
If you look up the definition, the verb snivel is “to speak or act in a whining, sniffling, tearful, or weakly emotional manner.”
Jones said Johnson would be put in the Ring of Honor last year, but so far, that has not happened nor have plans been made. When Le Batard asked if Johnson thinks he’ll ever see his induction, Johnson said he “never can tell.”

Johnson is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, so the two-time Super Bowl champion isn’t likely caring too much about a ring of honor.
