Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made some comments about the Eagles that left Jimmy Johnson scratching his head.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made headlines last week when he claimed the Eagles bet it all to win a championship this season.
“Anybody who thinks I won’t take a chance, has misread the tea leaves. But I do think longer term,” Jones said. “And I’m real hesitant to bet it all for a year. There’s a lot of things that can happen for that year. In essence, we’re seeing a couple of teams that have had some real success putting it all out there and paying for it later, in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.”
Former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson couldn’t believe the words that came out of his mouth, so he told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie asked him about Jones’ recent comments.
“I said, ‘I have no idea,’” Johnson said, via ProFootballTalk. “Philadelphia has a couple of first-round picks in the [2023] NFL draft. They’ve got extra picks down the road. They’ve got some very talented players. They’ve got some talented young players.”
Johnson added, “I think the Philadelphia Eagles are gonna be good for a long time.”

Jerry Jones has shown to be more of a talker of a team that can’t back up his statements while the Eagles have won a Super Bowl recently. Not only did they win, but they also tore down that roster, rebuilt it, and now are back in the Super Bowl a few years later.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys still haven’t advanced past the divisional game since the mid-90s. Jones might want to fix his home before he starts speaking on somebody else’s that is better.
