Mitch Trubisky and the Chicago Bears are trailing the David Blough-led Detroit Lions at halftime of their Thanksgiving Day contest at Ford Field.
Through 30 minutes, it’s actually Blough who has the better passing numbers, with 179 yards and two touchdowns compared to Trubisky’s 146 yards and one touchdown. The difference between the two wouldn’t be that big a deal if not for the fact that Blough is an undrafted rookie starting his first ever NFL contest, while Trubisky is a former second-overall pick playing in his third season.
Blough has looked like the better quarterback thus far, and it was enough for Fox’s Jimmy Johnson to poke fun at Trubisky by suggesting that the Bears were trying to trade him for the Lions’ rookie quarterback at the half.
Trade deadline is over, Jimmy. But maybe the two teams will revisit this deal in the offseason.
