New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was arrested on Friday night.
That is according to a report from TMZ claiming the player was apprehended under suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, with police stating he was seen wandering in traffic.
The lawmen had responded to a call about a suspicious person behaving erratically near a resort in Southern California. They noted that, having reached the scene, they witnessed Graham walking in the streets and he later resisted initial attempts to arrest him.
The TE was eventually subdued and is being investigated for the aforementioned offense, while he’s also been booked for resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.
TMZ also reports that the 36-year-old was released pending further investigations, also disclosing that they have reached out to the Saints and the NFL but haven’t received any word back.
The Saints are in California for their preseason fixture against the Los Angeles Chargers this Saturday, though the game might be affected by bad weather.
