Five-time Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham was involved in a serious accident this week, but that might have flown under the radar had A.J. Hawk not revealed as much during the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday.
Hawk claimed that Graham, who is currently a free agent, got hit by a car while cycling on Tuesday and it seemed like the injury he sustained was pretty gruesome, with Hawk claiming to have seen photos bearing a very deep gash.
The 36-year-old is all mended now, having gotten stitched up, and he’s said to have claimed to do more damage to the car, except that cars don’t get hurt or die (unless they’re Transformers).
“Jimmy Graham is actually training to sail around the world right now… He was riding his bike down in Miami yesterday and got taken out by a car but he said he did more damage to the car…” Hawk said.
In case you might be thinking that Hawk was joking, because he did sound really casual and indifferent about it, he was not.
Graham, who last played for the Chicago Bears, has thanked fans for their prayers and support via his Instagram Story. He didn’t show any of the gory details, but did claim to feel like “Monday after a game.”

“I greatly appreciated everyone who reached out after the accident. I woke up this morning feeling like it was just Monday after a game,” he wrote. “My body has certainly built up a callus for punishment over the years. I’ll be fine. Stay safe out there.”
As you can tell from the few reactions, Jimmy is not a man we should worry about. He probably wouldn’t have it any other way, though we do wish him a speedy recovery.
