Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t the best quarterback in the NFL. Not by a long shot. But there’s no doubting that he’s the smoothest.
The 49ers’ signal-caller was showing off his suave once again during a one-on-one interview with FOX’s Erin Andrews ahead of his team’s divisional round matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
After being asked how he felt heading into tonight’s contest, Jimmy G assured Erin that he was all systems go, before hitting her with an, “It feels great, baby.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Jimmy G’s pulled out the ol’ “baby” with Erin Andrews. It became a thing when he used it with her during a postgame interview back in 2019. His agent even trademarked the phrase, “It feels good, baby,” following the interview.
The Niners are going to need more of that suave from Jimmy G during what’s supposed to be a freezing cold game at Lambeau tonight. The Packers are coming off a bye week and they’ll be getting some key defensive players back for this battle of NFC heavyweights.
Garoppolo had his ups and downs during last week’s Wild Card victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He only completed 16 of 25 pass attempts for 172 yards and he threw a late interception that nearly opened the door to a Cowboys comeback. But in the end, he did just enough to get the 23-17 victory, and live to fight for at least one more week. But he’s going to need to be a lot better against a Packers team that figures to score more that just 17 points with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams running the show.
