Despite what social media may think, Jimmy Garoppolo was actually in awe of 49ers rookie QB Trey Lance after his 80-yard touchdown on Saturday.
The highlight of the entire game was clearly the rookie QB letting it fly to wide receiver Trent Sherfield.
Garoppolo, who started the game and got one series before giving way to Lance, personified the reactions of 49ers fans everywhere with a great photo of him on the sidelines.
Lance was 5-of-14 passing, 128 yards, one TD, 9.1 yards per attempt, 93.7 passer rating, and four sacks. Lance did accumulate 114 of his passing yards on two attempts, with only 14 on his other 10 attempts.
Even still, not a single 49ers fan cares as the youngster has shown promise and a glimpse into the future.
