Jimmie Ward really wants to dish out some punishment, but to two specific players in the league.
The San Francisco 49ers defensive back was recently on Instagram live when he revealed his mission to target AJ Brown and Devonta Smith
“When I catch DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown, when I move back to safety. Somebody’s gotta pay. Hopefully, both of them gotta pay.”
This threat comes on the heels of the 49ers and Eagles playing in the NFC Championship game where the road team lost their starting QB in Brock Purdy to an injury that pretty much doomed them from the start.
There may have been a bunch of trash talk during that game we do not know about it that triggered Ward into saying what he did. However, he has made it easy for the NFL to be on the lookout for something he may do to those players in the future.
In his first year with the Eagles after being traded by the Titans, Brown hauled in a career-high 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns. He changed everything for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense.
