Jim Nantz and Tony Romo of CBS will return this season but fans will not be hearing their voices today.
Tony Romo and Jim Nantz are well-known for their NFL commentary on CBS but the sportscasters will not appear on the network for Week 13 on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
Nantz and Romo called the Cowboys vs. Commanders game on CBS on Thursday for Thanksgiving and then called the Eagles vs. Bills game on Sunday.
With no premier games on schedule for CBS this Sunday, Nantz and Romo will be getting the weekend off.
43-year-old Romo played football at Eastern Illinois University before signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Not many thought much of him but he shocked everyone as he played 14 seasons before his 2017 NFL retirement.
Romo holds “several Cowboys’ team records including passing touchdowns, passing yards, most games with at least 300 passing yards and games with three-or-more touchdown passes.”

He would take his broadcasting to CBS Sports in 2017 as the “lead game analyst” for the NFL on CBS, forming the network’s “lead NFL announce team” alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson. He came out on fire as fans immediately loved him.
That love has since worn off but he remains a staple of the broadcasting booth.
64-year-old Nantz has had a highly accomplished sportscasting career since it began in the 1980s. He began working for CBS in 1985 and has served as the “lead play-by-play voice” for the NFL on the network since 2004.
