Jim Nantz had to give a strange explanation to fans about the “administrative timeout” during the first quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.
During the first quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship tilt between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, there was a brief stoppage in what was called an “administrative timeout.”
The CBS play-by-play voice then informed fans that there was apparently a drone “too close to the play” that caused the stoppage. Nantz emphasized, however, that it wasn’t the CBS drone.
The Chiefs took a 17-7 lead into the locker room at halftime. With a victory, they’ll play in their fourth Super Bowl in the last five years.
