CBS’ Jim Nantz is one of the most accomplished and beloved sports announcers of all-time, but even the best have the occasional hiccup.
Nantz and Tony Romo were on the call for the New England Patriots-New York Jets Week 3 game at MetLife Stadium. During the contest, Nantz kept referring to Pats’ safety Jabrill Peppers as former NFL star “Julius Peppers”, who played his final NFL game five years ago.
Needless to say, NFL fans weren’t pleased with Nantz’s butchering of Jabrill’s name.

The 27-year-old Peppers is in his second season with the Patriots. Entering Week 3, he had one pass defense and one forced fumble.
