Monday’s National Championship game might be the final one for Jim Harbaugh in college football.
Amid so much controversy, headlined by a cheating scandal, there are talks of the Michigan head coach heading back to the NFL and one team is emerging as a possible suitor.
According to Rapoport and Pelissero, the Chargers are believed to be among the teams that are considering talking with Harbaugh.
Harbaugh, who has been with the Wolverines since 2015, has been offered a 10-year, $125-million extension, but it comes with a clause that prevents him from pursuing any NFL jobs for the 2024 season.
While it’s not clear how much thought Harbaugh has put into the idea of returning to the NFL, he has not signed an extension with Michigan yet.
Harbaugh has already been rumored to have been in talks with the Chargers organization, though that has not yet been corroborated.

Harbaugh did come out and state that he would not be making a decision on his future until after the CFP Championship game takes place.
For now, Harbaugh will remain focused on the College Football Playoff title game, where he will face Washington on Monday.
