The Jim Harbaugh era at Michigan is over.
The biggest news of the week is Jim Harbaugh is leaving Michigan football to be the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. On the heels of leading Michigan football to its first national championship since 1997, he will not return for a 10th season, and instead try and lead a Chargers team to greatness.
According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, “industry sources” believe that offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is the “clear favorite” to be the next head coach of the Wolverines.
“Industry sources consider Sherrone Moore the clear favorite at this point to be the next head coach at Michigan,” Zenitz wrote.
Moore became a household name around the country in November after the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach led the Wolverines to a 24–15 win over No. 10 Penn State after Harbaugh was suspended.
After the game, Moore started crying tears of emotions while dedicating the win to Harbaugh who was not hurt or dead, just suspended.

Harbaugh previously confirmed he had hired NFL-affiliated agent Don Yee who represents Tom Brady and Sean Payton among other distinguished clients. The writing was clearly on the wall that he was leaving.
Harbaugh was hired as the 20th coach in Michigan history in 2014 and nine seasons later brought the Wolverines to the top of the mountain with a 34-13 win over Washington in the national title game.
He will finish with an 86-25 record overall and 60-17 in the Big Ten.
