Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is reportedly set to meet with an NFL team in the coming week.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero have reported that Harbaugh, believed to be a priority target for multiple teams, will meet with the Los Angeles Chargers. Their meeting date has not been disclosed.
The Chargers are keen on appointing a coach of the highest possible pedigree after firing Brandon Staley late last year and Harbaugh is one of the best thought to be on the market despite giving no indication of wanting to leave the Wolverines.
“Sources say it’s believed the Chargers will speak next week with Harbaugh, who has indicated to associates there’s a real possibility he could leave the University of Michigan to become Los Angeles’ head coach,” Rapoport and Pelissero note.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders are also thought to be interested in Harbaugh but the Chargers are the only ones scheduled to meet him at the moment.
