Jim Harbaugh is getting closer to his return to the NFL.
The Chargers have a second interview with Jim Harbaugh for their head coaching vacancy and it appears that a deal is imminent.
Ian Rapoport and Colin Cowherd have doubled down on Harbugh to LA, and now Mike Garafolo of NFL Network has taken things a step further.
A new report says the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh are “in striking distance” to getting a deal done for him to be head coach.
“My understanding is this is an extremely strong offer that they have made to him financially. They are now at the point where they are going to discuss staffing when it comes to the general manager and obviously, the coaching staff who is going to work alongside Harbaugh. This feels like advancing to the point where if everyone is comfortable with a lot of the principal factors at play this team could move on Jim Harbaugh and get him under contract here in the near future.”

Harbaugh said he was done chasing jobs but nobody believed him then for a good reason.
Michigan’s contract offer is said to be in the $125 million range in total if he chooses to return, so it will interesting to see what type of deal the Charges have in front of him.
