The New York Jets reportedly still have designs on pairing a top wide receiver with Aaron Rodgers.
While the quarterback has not been able to contribute this season due to injury, the team still has high hopes for him and, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, will make another run at Davante Adams after making attempts to reunite the two ahead of this year’s trade deadline.
The Jets have put some familiar faces around Rodgers, acquiring former Green Bay Packers receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. But signing a player of Adams’ caliber would likely put them over the top as he could be the final piece of a setup that helps them realize their Super Bowl dreams.
Adams and Rodgers have a very good relationship, yet he might be keen on remaining in Vegas as he’s reported to have long-term plans for Vegas despite his public criticism of the team in 2023.
The star wideout has also been enjoying life since the termination of Josh McDaniels and is understood to have confidence in rookie quarterback Aiden O’Connell, who has since replaced Jimmy Garoppolo as a starter.
