The New York Jets are trading a once highly-touted young wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jets are trading Elijah Moore and the No. 74 pick in April’s 2023 draft to the Browns in exchange for the No. 42 selection.
News of the Moore trade came soon after the Jets agreed to a deal with ex-Kansas City Chiefs speedster and wideout Mecole Hardman. As for the Browns, they finally land a capable WR2 to complement Pro Bowler Amari Cooper, who tuned in another 1,000-yard campaign in 2022.
The Jets drafted Moore 34th overall in 2021, but the Mississippi product struggled to find his game in Gotham. Moore showed some promise as a rookie with 538 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 11 games, but he had just 446 catches and one TD in 16 games this past year.
Moore joins a Cleveland offense led by Cooper, star running back Nick Chubb, quarterback Deshaun Watson and tight end David Njoku.
