Aaron Rodgers previously said “it wasn’t a great fit” between Nathaniel Hackett and the Denver Broncos. If the coach is a fit elsewhere, would that mean Rodgers would think about heading to that particular team?
The New York Jets are casting a wide net in their search for a new offensive coordinator, and they reportedly are giving a look at Hackett. He has since interviewed with the team after he didn’t last a full year as head coach of the Broncos before he was fired Dec. 26th.
With the New York Jets in desperate need of a QB, one NFL Insider says the team may be trying to lure Rodgers to the Big Apple.
Hackett went 4-11 during his brief time in Denver and was widely viewed as the main culprit for the team’s terrible offense. At one point this past regular season, the Broncos featured the No. 1 scoring defense and the No. 32 scoring offense.
The team also missed the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year.
The Jets are in the market for a new offensive play-caller after they fired offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur last week. Per ESPN, the Jets offense has produced an average of 17.8 points per game over the last two seasons, which ranks 31st in the NFL.
