Elijah Moore wants a trade from the New York Jets, so the team made sure to keep him off the field on Sunday. The frustrated New York Jets wide receiver who requested a trade Thursday after being sent home following a blow-up with a coach returned to the team’s facility Friday but was inactive Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
“To ask him to play a football game with where he is from a mental standpoint wouldn’t be fair to him, in my opinion,” coach Robert Saleh told reporters. “But that’s strictly my decision.”
Saleh said the Jets won’t grant Moore’s trade request, so he has plenty of free time to do whatever he wants.
On top of everything that is going on, Jets fans think they have encountered a burner account associated with Moore. What makes it even more believable is that the person behind it suddenly deleted it.
The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 1.

Among the people who do not like his behavior amid a magical season for the Jets is Rex Ryan. The former Jets head coach ripped the 22-year-old during ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” after he requested a trade.
“So Elijah Moore requests a trade after the team has won three straight games,” Ryan said. “What’s he played, 20 games in the league already? Are you kidding? You know how hard it is to win in this league? Elijah Moore, you need to grow up. I love the Jets. Always been a fan of the Jets. My dad coached there for eight years, I coached there for forever. I’m sorry, but this right here, I’m not a fan of yours.
“You need to grow up, OK, Elijah Moore? You’re watching at home. Are you kidding me? Why aren’t you with your football team? Grow up. The greatest players of our sport want to win over anything else.”
The second-round pick in 2021 caught 43 passes for 538 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games during a promising rookie season.
His involvement has gone downhill since Zach Wilson returned from injury.
Moore had zero targets during the win in Green Bay.
