C.J. Uzomah is already feeling whAt it is like to playin the media capitol of the country.
After the former Cincinnati Bengals tight end signed with the Jets last week on a three-year deal worth $24 million, he was forced to take to social media and shut down claims that he joined the Jets to be closer to “Good Morning Football” host Kay Adams, who is based in New York.
“Uh… idk what @DLInTheTrenches is talking about. I’m not dating Kay,” Uzomah wrote in a tweet, tagging Dave Lapham, a podcast host covering the Bengals.
“My decision to go to NY was not about anything other than what was in my best interest for me and my playing career. Respect you, Dave, but had to call this out when false rumors are spreading.”
Lapham later apologized in a separate tweet, writing, “Totally fair, my apologies to you and Ms [Kay Adams].”

Uzomah said the recent romance rumors have upset the current woman in his life.
“My personal life is my personal life. My girl isn’t the happiest about these accusations, though,” he wrote.
Adams has not addressed the situation and likely will not give it the time of day.
During an introductory conference call with media Thursday, Uzomah said culture sold him on the Jets.
“I think getting to talk to Michael Carter, the coaching staff and seeing how they want to run the offense, honestly its a culture thing,” He said.
Uzomah ended his seven-year campaign with the Bengals with a career-high of 49 receptions for 493 yards and 5 touchdowns.
