New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made significant progress in his recovery from a torn Achilles that he suffered two months ago.
Rodgers suffered the injury just minutes into his New York debut against the Buffalo Bills back in Week 1 on Nov. 11. Rodgers was previously getting around MetLife Stadium on a cart, but it appears as though he won’t need it any more.
Ahead of the Jets’ Week 9 home game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the team posted a video of Rodgers walking around the stadium under his own power. You’ll notice that there isn’t a noticeable limp in the 39-year-old, either.
A torn Achilles is almost always a season-ending injury for professional athletes, but Rodgers has expressed confidence that he’ll return and play again this year.
The Jets have managed to hang around in the playoff race without Rodgers despite mediocre play from backup QB Zach Wilson. The Jets dropped three in a row following their Week 1 win over Buffalo, but the club has since rallied with three straight victories.
With a win over the Chargers on Monday night, the Jets will be tied for each of the three wild card spots in the AFC along with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.
