Derek Carr and Davante Adams could be reunited as soon as next year. The QB ‘will be recruiting very hard’ for reunion with college teammate Davante Adams in 2022 free agency as stated earlier this year.
This offseason, the Raiders could have a great opportunity to solidify their wide receiver corps by trying to add the pro-bowl player. If he doesn’t agree on a new contract with the Packers, he’ll be the hottest name in free agency.
Jerry Rice was asked about those rumors and had a telling reaction to it all.
“Oh my God, Davante Adams, oh my God,” Rice told Heavy in response to Adams possibly signing with the Raiders. “To have those two guys together, that would be awesome for the Raiders.
And you got to have that connection, you got to have that go-to receiver. And you know, right now, I think DeSean Jackson, he can still take the layer off the top but you get a guy like Adams that can do it all, that can run around underneath, make those real difficult catches and also can threaten the defense by going deep to, it would be a great team.”
Adams is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. If Aaron Rodgers is indeed leaving the team after the 2021 season, there is no reason for Adams to stick around with an unproved QB in Jordan Love.
Adams is third in the NFL with 90 receptions and 1,204 yards tied for 10th with seven touchdowns this year.
