Hall of Fame wide receivers are loving the idea of having Antonio Brown on the San Francisco 49ers.
First, Michael Irvin, who stated pairing Brown with 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan “would be insane.”
Then, Jerry Rice who went on the radio and basically endorsed the idea of having the disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers on the west coast.
“If you got a player like that, that you can get,” Rice said Monday on 95.7 The Game. “That can really add to the offense of the San Francisco 49ers where you let those guys go play, I think you have to go for it.”
Brown has been embroiled in trade rumors ever since his falling out with the team in the days leading up the Week 17 when he was suspended for the final game of the season.
In order to acquire Brown, the 49ers likely would have to part with a sizable package as Pittsburgh reportedly wants a first-round draft pick or “multiple high picks.”
Brown himself started the rumors by responding to 49ers TE George Kittle on social media and then liking a post on Instagram showing the Pro Bowler in a San Francisco 49ers uniform.
