Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones has broken his silence on the contract holdout situation regarding All-Pro guard, Zack Martin.
The 32-year-old Martin is holding out with the hopes of earning a new deal. The future Hall of Famer has two years remaining on his current pact and will thus be eligible to enter free agency in the 2025 offseason.
Martin loses out on $50,000 on each day he holds out, as previously noted by ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Jones addressed Martin’s holdout on Monday, per Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated’s FanNation Cowboys Country site, stating that the club simply has to move forward with the players who are present.
“You realize that not having him here, it could happen (via injury) on the next play,” Jones said. “You got to put that one on and say you just move on here without him.”
