The Dallas Cowboys are in first place in the NFC East, but that’s mainly because the entire division is a dumpster fire. It has led to even more questions surrounding the status of Jason Garrett and whether he will be back with the team after this season.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked during his Tuesday morning appearance on 105.3 The Fan about Garrett and why he doesn’t want to make an in-season coaching change.
His answer had people thinking that a change was definitely going to come when he mentioned Garrett coaching next season, but didn’t mention with his franchise.
“Nobody has the exclusive skills to get the job done so that collectively you can win a Super Bowl,” Jones said, per The Athletic. “But there are qualified people. Jason Garrett is one of them. In my opinion, Jason Garrett will be coaching in the NFL next year.”
But Jones also said this: “Jason Garrett is a good coach. He’s also one of the hardest working coaches. He knows this team better than anybody. . . . I’m glad to have him. He is the guy for the job.”
