Much like everybody who watched the game in real time, Jerry Jones also saw what went wrong in that final drive for the Cowboys that led to their defeat.
Second-and-2 from Minnesota’s 11-yard line. One minute and 33 seconds left. Down four. Dak had been killing the Vikings secondary with his passing, logging in 397 yards, and three touchdowns on 28-of-46 passing, good for a 101.5 rating.
However, Jason Garrett and/or Kellen Moore decided to give the ball to a struggling Ezekiel Elliott twice, instead of going to Amari Cooper, who tallied a game-high 147 yards on 11 receptions.
Now the Cowboys are 5-4.
“It’s disappointing. Disappointing. We’ll have to pay for this one. Hopefully it won’t be terminal,” Jones said after the 28-24 defeat, per The Athletic.
Elliott, the league’s richest running back only racked up 47 yards on 20 carries.

“Could have put a sign on the start of the game that said ‘Zeke’s not going anywhere.’ “That was the story of the game,” Jones said, via USA Today.
Prescott, who’s only bringing in just over $2 million in base salary, was surgical all night, and his number wasn’t called upon to make the much-needed pass to win the game. That is a problem.
Jones says he won’t question that particular series but you know that he’s upset about it.
“I’m not going get into that sensitive work. We’d all like to have that back. But you have to keep trying,” Jones stated, per ESPN.
