For the second year in a row, the Dallas Cowboys have been eliminated from the NFL playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers in heartbreaking fashion.
These types of losses don’t get any easier for the team. And they’re certainly taking their toll on Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who looked noticeably distraught following Dallas’ 19-12 loss in the Divisional Round.
After the game, Jones spoke about the loss with reporters. And there seemed to be one key word that the 80-year-old thought best described how he and the team are feeling right now.
“Sick.”
From calling the loss, “sickening,” to describing his feelings as “sick,” this seemed to be the word of the hour for Jerry.

Last year, the Cowboys were eliminated in the Wild Card round by the Niners in front of their home fans. On this occasion, they were the road team. Despite that fact, however, you could argue that expectations were even higher this year after the team was coming off a dominating victory over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dak Prescott was especially impressive in that win, but he failed to put forth a repeat performance this week. And now he and his Cowboys teammates will have a long offseason to figure out exactly what went wrong, as their Super Bowl drought extends another year.
