Last month, the Baltimore Ravens shocked everybody when they announced they had officially released S Earl Thomas following his altercation with a teammate in practice.
Thomas, a seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks, was cut by the team with them citing “personal conduct that has adversely affected the team,” after he reportedly punched teammate Chuck Clark during a practice fight.
His name has been connected with the Dallas Cowboys since he is a Texas native and former Texas Longhorns star.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke on Thomas’ status with the franchise on 105.3 The Fan today.

“Discussions directly with Earl, I have not had any. We have not had any. But I have not had any either. Discussions internally, we have discussions that certainly he’s an outstanding football player and we’re sitting here at personnel time and we’re looking for ways to get better and he would be one of several that we would discuss during this particular time as we finalize this roster. It would be a misleading thing to say we haven’t discussed him, it would be a misleading thing to say that we have.”
The 31-year-old recorded 49 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and four passes defended during the 2019 season.
