On Monday, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys finally ended their standoff when they Prescott agreed to a four-year, $160 million deal on Monday. Prescott is guaranteed $126 million as part of the deal. Not to mention, Dak’s signing bonus is the highest in NFL history.
Among the quarterbacks listed above, only Dak and Stafford have never been to the Super Bowl. It made some wonder why Jerry Jones would give such money to Prescott.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that it was much more than him simply wanting Prescott back on the team for a few more years.
A league source informed him they believe the Dak deal signifies a huge NFL TV contract is coming.
CBS, ESPN, Fox, and NBC are all retaining their existing packages. CBS, Fox, and NBC will each reportedly pay around $2 billion per year for their package. ESPN will pay an estimated value between $2.4 billion and $2.6 billion, but will be lower than the near 100% increases the other networks are dishing out.
