Say what you will about Jerry Jones’ decision-making when it comes to running an NFL side, but the man definitely cares about his team and their fanbase.
The Dallas Cowboys owner has proven that once again with his latest deed, which fans are calling “very classy.”
The report comes from ESPN’s Ed Werder, who shared a Facebook post from a Cowboys fan who detailed Jerry’s kind gesture. According to the post, Cowboys fan Timothy Washington was attending his first game (on Thanksgiving vs. the Commanders) when his father tragically collapsed and died just 100 yards from the stadium.
Wanting to offer his condolences and show his support, Jones sent Timothy a handwritten letter and flowers.
According to the post from Timothy, Jerry the Cowboys also provided food, although we are unsure as to what that was exactly.
Regardless, it’s an incredible deed from Jones — one that should have earned him a ton of good karma. Unfortunately for him, that karma didn’t translate to the football field, as the Cowboys were once again sent home early in their playoff run, this time in the wild card round following an ugly loss to the Packers.
