Hold your horses, everyone! The dreams of Bill Belichick joining the Dallas Cowboys may still become a reality.
It seemed like we were headed for a marriage between Belichick and Jerry Jones after the Cowboys experienced yet another disappointing playoff exit, this time at the hands of the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round.
However, Jerry made the unpopular decision to keep Mike McCarthy around for at least one more season, seemingly eliminating any hope of Belichick landing in Big D.
But just when we thought it was over, Jerry Jones has come along and reignited the Belichick-to-Dallas rumors with his latest comments.
According to a report from Yahoo! Sports’ Jori Epstein, Jones still feels as thought he could work with Belichick.
“I know him personally and I like him,” Jones said. “There’s no doubt in my mind we could work together. None. None.”

It seemed unlikely that the Cowboys would get their chance to hire Belichick when the six-time Super Bowl champion was being linked to the Falcons job. Now that he’s been passed over, however, there’s suddenly a belief across the NFL that Belichick could wait until 2025 to find his next head coaching gig.
As for Dallas, they just so happen to have a coach who’s on an expiring contract, which they don’t plan on renewing.
Don’t count out a Belichick-Jones partnership just yet!
