Dak Prescott has been getting some bad press this offseason, having become the subject of a disturbing allegation.
The Cowboys quarterback stands accused of having sexually assaulted a woman outside of a strip club in Dallas back in 2017. He has denied the claims and has since sued his accuser for extortion.
Investigators are said to be looking into both matters.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has addressed the troubling circumstances this week. Jones was asked about the allegations at the owners’ meeting in Orlando, Florida, and confirmed that the team is aware of what’s going on while he’s not uncomfortable with it.
“We are very knowledgeable of it,” he was quoted as saying by Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “Of anybody, I can say you work through the legal aspects of it. So, very aware of it. Not uncomfortable with it in any way. Hate it that the issue has to have any negative aspect to it all for everybody concerned. I can say that we’re just very aware of the details and very comfortable.”

Jones is named in a lawsuit claiming sexual assault himself, while he’s also been taken to task by a 27-year-old who believes he is her biological father.
Prescott, meanwhile, has said through his lawyer that the encounter between himself and the woman in question was consensual.
Dak Prescott’s Future With the Cowboys Remains Murky
Dak Prescott’s future with the Cowboys is thought to be uncertain following the team’s decision to restructure his deal. The development suggests that the quarterback will be allowed to test free agency at the end of next season, however, CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson has reported that the team is keen on tying him down to a long-term contract.
Jones has also claimed to be of the view that the QB could lead the team to a Super Bowl.
