It may be time for Jerry Jones to finally take a step back because he is clearly losing it.
The Cowboys selected Tulsa offensive tackle Tyler Smith with the No. 24 overall pick and it received a ton of criticism from experts and fans.
Jones defended the pick during a press conference following the first round, but may have taken things a bit too far trying to prove a point. The Cowboys’ owner revealed a copy of the team’s draft board as he tried to prove Smith was his highest-rated offensive tackle available at the time.
Stephen Jones, Jerry’s son and the team’s CEO, could be seen trying to restrain his father from giving away the Cowboys’ scouting reports.
“Don’t show them that!” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said, swatting his father’s arm. “Put that thing down.”
Tyler Smith played in 25 games, starting 23, in three years at left tackle for Tulsa. He said the Cowboys didn’t discuss his position during a private workout and pro day film session but that he’s up for the challenge to become more versatile.

“I played tackle in college, but I’m willing to play wherever they put me,” Smith said by phone. “I’m going to take the coaching and I’ll practice it all.”
If this pick doesn’t work out, Jerry Jones is going to feel the wrath of the Cowboys fan base, especially after the team fell short in the playoffs a few months ago.
